DPH Management Services delivered a programme of enabling works and supporting infrastructure to facilitate the installation of new and replacement Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across 48 stations throughout Wales, working directly for Transport for Wales over a five-month period. The multidisciplinary scope included electrical works comprising the installation of new power supply cabling, modifications to existing distribution equipment and associated containment, alongside telecoms works involving new data cabling, alterations to existing telecoms equipment and containment systems. In parallel, DPH delivered a wide range of civil engineering activities including excavations, waste disposal, installation of service ducting and concrete bases, as well as modifications to information boards and fencing, relocation of platform furniture and shelters, and reinstatement of finishes and surfaces to operational standards.
All works were carried out in busy, live station environments, requiring careful planning, coordination and a strong focus on public safety and asset protection. DPH adopted flexible working patterns, including day and night shifts, to meet demanding programme milestones and minimise disruption to passengers and station operations. Despite challenging conditions, including delays caused by extreme weather, the project was delivered safely, to a high standard of quality and in line with client expectations. DPH was commended by Transport for Wales for clear communication, a proactive approach to problem solving and the quality of workmanship, demonstrating our ability to deliver coordinated, multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure works efficiently within constrained operational environments.
