DPH delivered a £500k electrical installation package at UCL Marshgate, Stratford, working for Dornan Engineering Services Limited as part of East Bank — a major new hub for culture, education, innovation and growth in London. Delivered over a 9-month programme, the works supported the fit-out of key areas within the development, requiring a coordinated installation of electrical infrastructure to meet the standards expected of a flagship university facility.
DPH’s scope covered Levels 00 and 01, including the installation of cable management systems (CMS), lighting, and small power using free-issue materials provided by the project team. Works included the mounting and connection of distribution boards (with sub-mains cabling by others), installation and connection of lighting and power systems, and final circuit provisions across both levels. DPH also installed wall-mounted containment and associated infrastructure for data, security and fire alarm points, including header trunking to suit the agreed design. Additional scope included final connections to equipment from spurs and isolators, full system labelling, and the installation and termination of Belden cabling into eight lighting control panels, supporting the lighting controls strategy for the project.
The package was completed with comprehensive testing and verification, including additional live testing of lighting circuits, lux level testing to confirm compliance with performance requirements, and provisional works for earthing and bonding across both levels. Through controlled delivery, coordinated installation and a quality-led approach to testing and handover, DPH supported Dornan in delivering compliant, high-standard electrical infrastructure within a high-profile education development at Stratford.
