NEASDEN DEPOT

4LM – Old Lifting Shed Electrical and DC Power Upgrade

Project value

£1.6m

Duration

19 months

Client

Circet

DPH delivered a complex electrical installation package at Neasden Depot, working for Circet UK on behalf of Transport for London, within a live operational depot environment. The scope included the installation of cable management systems, DC power shore supplies, DC pedestals with integrated Emergency Power Off (EPO) systems, submains distribution, lighting and small power, and earthing systems, followed by full testing and commissioning. A significant element of the works involved the installation and management of high-capacity DC and AC cabling, including over 5km of 300mm² single-core XLPE/AWA/LSF DC power cables, extensive earthing, AC control cabling and dedicated EPO circuits, all carefully routed and installed to maintain depot operations. DPH also delivered the sequenced installation of 30no. 630V DC pedestals, coordinating works to enable safe terminations where pedestal designs did not accommodate the specified cable sizes, requiring controlled modifications to termination chambers. Through detailed planning, precise execution and close collaboration with depot stakeholders, DPH successfully delivered a safe, compliant installation while maintaining operational continuity, demonstrating our capability to deliver high-risk electrical works in live rail environments to the standards expected on critical TfL infrastructure.
