80 THE STRAND

DPH delivered an electrical installation package at 80 Strand, supporting Dornan Engineering Services Ltd on the refurbishment of a prestigious commercial property over an 8-month programme. The project focused on the installation, testing and commissioning of small power and modular lighting systems across Levels 3 and 4, with a strong emphasis on quality, coordination and clean delivery within a live refurbishment environment.

 Our scope included the installation of containment throughout the floors and risers (excluding containment already incorporated within the prefabricated modules), secondary containment to electrical and mechanical devices, and the provision of Unistrut support systems to facilitate the integration of prefabricated modules. DPH installed and terminated busduct flex connections between modules and tap-off units, fitted busbar tap-offs within the risers, and completed submain installation, termination and testing to all relevant distribution boards serving the areas. The works also covered the installation of distribution boards, full cabling installation (excluding security, BMS, fire alarm and data services), and termination at distribution boards and all associated electrical and mechanical devices.

 DPH also delivered the full lighting scope on levels 3 and 4, including PIR controls, LCM ceiling modules, area controllers located within the risers and relay installations within the toilet cores. Additional refurbishment works included rewiring of existing equipment within lift lobby and stair core areas, re-lamping and testing of retained lighting, and the installation of new containment within ceiling voids and wall zones to support the upgraded systems. All cabling was fully tested, and bonding and earthing provisions were installed in line with BS 7671 requirements, supporting a safe, compliant and high-quality handover. Through detailed sequencing and disciplined installation standards, DPH ensured a smooth integration with Dornan’s wider delivery strategy, contributing to a successful modernisation of this high-profile commercial refurbishment.
