DPH delivered a £1.85m electrical installation package at a Newport Data Centre over a 32-week programme, providing a coordinated scope covering small power and lighting, main containment, and above-ground earthing and bonding to support a fast-paced mission-critical build environment. The works were delivered across a wide range of technical and operational spaces, requiring consistent quality standards, controlled sequencing and strong interface management throughout.
The scope included the installation of main containment systems to support internal MV and LV cable routes, alongside the delivery of lighting and small power provisions with secondary containment to all associated equipment across the data halls, battery rooms, electrical rooms, mechanical corridors, admin building, roof areas, guard house and water treatment rooms. Each area carried different installation requirements and specifications, with DPH ensuring compliance across varied environments while maintaining high-quality installation standards. The programme involved the installation of over 100km of cabling, ranging from 2.5mm² to 150mm², supporting distribution and final circuit requirements throughout the facility.
DPH also installed Tekton busbar lighting systems with dedicated switching, and completed the termination of lighting and power panels in line with programme milestones. Works were delivered with careful sequencing to maintain progress alongside other trades and specialist equipment installations, including OFCI (Owner Furnished Contractor Installed) and CFCI(Contractor Furnished Contractor Installed) equipment, with DPH also completing the installation of CFCI equipment as part of the overall package. The project was completed with full dead and live testing. Strict controls were maintained throughout to mitigate FOD (Foreign Object Debris) risk, supporting a clean, compliant installation and successful handover aligned with the standards expected in a mission-critical data centre environment.
