DPH delivered a points heating renewal package at Camden Junction for KGJ Price, supporting wider bridge and track works through a controlled design, enabling and reinstatement programme delivered over six months.
DPH first developed the points heating design for two point ends, confirming the required heater configuration, cabling routes, terminations and interfaces to suit the renewed track layout. The team then completed the disconnection, isolation and pull-back of the existing points heating equipment and associated cables during a single possession to enable the removal and reinstatement of the railway bridge, track and related infrastructure. To accelerate delivery and reduce risk on the operational railway, heater strips were installed to the new point equipment off-site at Beeston Yard, ensuring the points were fully prepared prior to installation.
Following reinstatement of the bridge and track assets, DPH installed the new points heating system during another single possession window, completed all terminations and connections back to the transformers, and carried out full testing and commissioning to verify performance and support assurance requirements. The works were delivered with a strong focus on safety, quality and programme control, ensuring the installation was brought back into service efficiently and in line with rail standards.
