CANTON DEPOT

Electrical Surveys, Strip Out & Installation

Project value

£185k

Duration

5 months

Client

BAM Nuttall

DPH delivered a survey and electrical upgrade package at Canton Depot, working for BAM Nuttall over a five-month programme to support depot modernisation and electrical infrastructure improvements. The works combined detailed surveys to support the design process as well as strip out and installation activities required to progress wider depot works.

DPH’s scope included lux level surveys to confirm existing lighting performance, alongside a series of intrusive and non-intrusive electrical surveys across depot areas including the Lower Depot Pullman and refurbishment shed environments. The package also incorporated load monitoring activities at Substation No. 3, supporting a clear understanding of existing electrical demand and capacity prior to equipment replacement and network alterations. Following survey completion, DPH carried out the removal of existing distribution boards and delivered the installation of new distribution boards with associated LV supplies, supporting improved resilience, maintainability and compliance of the electrical distribution arrangement. In addition, DPH delivered LV Panel works, including associated earthing and bonding requirements provided through dayworks, supporting safe integration into the depot’s wider electrical system.
