DPH delivered an electrical installation package at 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, working for Dornan Engineering Services Ltd on the construction of a contemporary, high-quality and sustainable university building over a 12-month programme. The project required coordinated delivery across a complex, multi-level educational environment, including specialist spaces such as sports halls, squash courts, plantrooms, rehearsal and music areas, terraces and circulation routes, with installation works phased in line with ongoing design development and site sequencing.
DPH’s scope included the installation of extensive cable management systems (CMS) integrating with a modular CMS system, lighting, small power, and MFSD (Motorised Fire & Smoke Damper) electrical infrastructure. Works were delivered across basement levels, ground and upper floors, including core areas and corridors. DPH also installed floor trunking and conduit systems to support floor box locations, provided power and containment to plant areas and AHUs, and delivered essential secondary containment for devices and systems across building spaces.
The project incorporated significant lighting delivery across multiple levels, including general lighting, emergency lighting, external and roof lighting, terrace lighting, walkway feature lighting and upgrades to atrium lighting. DPH also completed lighting controls and associated interfaces including PIR installations, set-scene switch cabling and control equipment requirements. Small power installations included general distribution on all floors, additional supplies for hand dryers, solenoid valves, small power and specialist equipment, along with supply circuitry.
In addition to the primary electrical scope, DPH provided support for wider building systems and interfaces, including CAT5 cabling for control points and panels, containment for security and door entry systems, CCTV containment and cabling routes, and enabling works to accommodate AV and pro-audio requirements around the atrium. MFSD works included power and control wiring alterations, additional damper wiring and panel modifications, as well as attendances to support commissioning activities. Delivered within a dynamic construction environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements, DPH maintained programme momentum through flexible working patterns including split shifts where needed, supporting Dornan with a responsive, quality-led delivery aligned to project standards and successful handover requirements.
