TFW SITES - ABERTHAW AND SWANSEA

DPH delivered a specialist points heating installation package for AmcoGiffen on behalf of Transport for Wales, supporting operational resilience across key locations at Aberthaw, Swansea High Street, and Swansea Loop East. The works formed part of wider winter resilience upgrades, reducing the risk of point failures and supporting safe, reliable train operations during low-temperature conditions.

DPH’s scope included the installation of all points heater elements in accordance with the detailed design, along with all associated connections, glanding, terminations into the trackside connection boxes and points heating transformers. The package also incorporated the installation and integration of remote condition monitoring.

All works were delivered within the constraints of the operational railway, requiring careful sequencing and execution during short Saturday night possession windows to minimise disruption to services. The project was completed with full testing and commissioning, in line with BS 7671, Network Rail standards and client requirements. This programme demonstrated DPH’s capability to deliver safety-critical trackside electrical installations efficiently within restricted access periods, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
